Adoniram Judson (1788-1850) is remembered as the American Baptist Missionary who spent 40 years of his life serving in Burma which led to the conversion of the Burmese people to the Christian faith. At the age of 25, Adoniram Judson[1] became the first Protestant missionary sent from North America[2] to preach in Burma. His mission and work led to the formation of the first Baptist association in America, inspired many Americans to become or support missionaries, translated the Bible into Burmese, and established a number of Baptist churches in Burma.
Early life in Malden, Massachusetts. Judson was born on 9 August 1788 in Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of a Congregational minister, Adoniram Judson, Sr. and his wife, Abigail (née Brown). It’s hard to believe that a whole year has passed since I sat down to type my last report; it seems like only yesterday. ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
2012 is shaping up to be another interesting year. We continue to face building and financial challenge but we also continue to be blessed with capable people who aren’t afraid to meet those challenges head on. We’re blessed to have a loving, caring and hard working pastor. Working together - there is no challenge we can’t meet.
I’d like to offer you another challenge. I truly believe that here at First Baptist, we have a good thing going and I challenge each of you to invite a friend to share the First Baptist experience. Are you up for the challenge? Sure you are!

Moderator

Who is God? Can we know Him? If we gaze on the world around us can’t we not see the glory of the sky and the birds that fly? What about the majestic height of a cloud covered mountain and the lake surrounded by hills so green with grass and flowering
trees? Who made all these?
Who ordered the rising of the sun and its setting? The regularity of days and seasons? What about the life that exists in this world?
One possible answer is that a Supreme Creator made all these things…and we call Him, God. When I see all the wonders of His creation I can’t help but believe. Yes, by faith… I believe.
You’re a real deep thinker. Thanks for sharing.
